Rhythms in the Bongwoo Tao Breathing Method

As you slowly move to the third step of the Bongwoo Tao Breathing Method, you’ll become familiar with the rhythm of your breath. Just as a music of a song is held together by the consistent beat of the percussion instrument or the drummer, similarly you will be guided to breathe slowly and evenly so that over time your breath has a consistent rhythm and is not long or short breath.
During the meditation, I will guide you into a consistent and even breathing rhythm. But while practicing on your own, I suggest that you keep an old-fashioned clock that makes the tick-tock sound. This ticking counter will help you count the length of your inhale and exhale. During your home practice, I encourage you to gently try to extend your breath while keeping an even rhythm. As you practice this rhythm, a joy and pleasure will arise in your meditation practice which may be much more than you would feel when you listen to your favorite song.
